Our History

For more than a decade, AHEFS has remained committed empowering communities for sustainable development

Founded in 2006 by Mr. Kwaku Asante after National Service and winning the 2006 National Best Teacher Award in the NSP Category, AHEFS was constituted to empower communities with comprehensive knowledge on malaria, HIV and TB and to create the enabling environment needed for secured food production systems towards reducing poverty and promoting sustainable development.

Later into 2007, Mr. K. D. Ninsau came on board after his return from Italy to Ghana to support the growth of the organisation.

Consequently, the organisation was officially constituted and incorporated in May 2007. AHEFS has since grown to have a 9-member management board and 7-member Board of Directors with over 300 community-based volunteers working in agriculture, health and environmental governance across the country.
